Home Gnome FAQ

Home Gnome connects you to homeowners near you needing your skills – painting, plumbing, pool service, HVAC, you name it – to get projects done around the house, apartment, or town home.

Super easy. Setting up your account takes just a few minutes online or in the Home Gnome app. Just enter your name, address, phone, company name, email, and account number where your payments (and tips) will be deposited.

We’ll also ask what home services you offer, what year you started your business, etc., to create your Home Gnome pro profile. Simple and easy.

You’ll need some proof you’re a U.S. citizen (Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number, for example) and proof of certification for some specialty services like electrical work. You’ll also need to pass a background check because you will be entering the homes of your customers.

You should receive your first job within a few weeks of activation.

We will send you available jobs in your area, and you have to choose to accept or decline those jobs. We do not automatically assign them.

You are paid quickly via Stripe once jobs are completed. Payments are processed every Monday, released on Wednesday, and will arrive in your bank account on or before Friday.
