CYA is added to pools to protect chlorine from being degraded by sunlight, but an overabundance of CYA can overpower the free chlorine and make your chlorine ineffective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In other words, the chlorine is there, but bound up by a stabilizer to the point that it can\u2019t sanitize. For this, you need a reliable DPD test kit that measures both free chlorine and total chlorine.
