11 Stunning Bathroom Chandelier Ideas to Elevate Your Space

Whether you’re after classic elegance or want to finesse your space with an artsy, old-world, eclectic, or rustic aesthetic, these bathroom chandelier ideas will provide all the inspiration you need.

Limited only by your taste and budget, you can choose to purchase your chandelier new online or off the showroom floor (anywhere from $40 to $2,000+), design a custom one (ranging from $1,000 to $20,000+), or buy one second-hand (about $20 to $600+).

My favorite places to thrift anything related to home decor are Habitat for Humanity ReStores, yard/estate sales, and eBay.

1. Classic Crystal

For a spa-like mood, I recommend trying the opulence of a crystal chandelier. Draped in hundreds of tiny glass crystals, it looks almost akin to suspending a collection of diamonds from your ceiling. Rather than focusing your gaze on dull bathroom basics like toilets and sinks, you can enjoy a much more lavish focal point.

2. Modern Candelabra

Make bathtime feel like a full-on ceremonial occasion with a candelabra chandelier. Candelabra bulbs give off less light than regular ones, and the resulting shadow play is an intense, yet welcome, mood shift. Choose warm white LED bulbs for maximum relaxation.

3. Farmhouse Chic

To set off those wide plank floors and shiplap walls, try a neutral-colored, textured, drum-shaped chandelier above your sink. Incorporating various textures — think mosaic tiles or woven fibers — will add dimension to your room and elicit a more inviting atmosphere.

4. Tiered Pendant

From the top down, each tier of a multi-level pendant decreases in size, replicating the peaceful flow of water from your shower. I like to include a dimmer switch with my lighting, so there’s even more relaxation to be had.

A monochromatic pick can give modern elegance, while two-toned variations can create visual interest and dramatic effect. Hang it above your toilet for a dash of fancy while handling your business.

5. Sculptured Shine

Modern bathrooms are known for playing up lines, angles, and simplicity. That’s why a multi-light, geometric chandelier is the perfect statement piece to tie everything together. Install it in the center of your space, and even when those lights are off, it will remain a solid focal point.

6. Teardrop Lights

An ideal accent for a smaller, industrial-style bathroom, steel teardrop pendants pair well with exposed brick and pipes. Minimalist without being boring, this type of fixture will warm up the space by making it not too bright and not too dim.

7. Lantern-Like Luxe

Besides adding a little vintage charm to your space, hanging a small lantern on either side of your mirror will give you the best lighting for getting ready. This placement is also ideal for small bathrooms where larger chandeliers may not be an option.

8. Art Deco Vibes

Compliment a bold bathroom’s bright colors or scalloped patterns with an equally dramatic abstract chandelier of your own. Be it a sculptured fixture made of blown glass globes, cube-shaped frames, stained glass accents, or the like, this type of lighting will infuse your space with bygone-era feels.

My Tip: Now in my luxe core era, I’m obsessed with all things glam. So, of course, I chose to hang a globe chandelier above my new clawfoot tub for the ultimate pampering experience.

9. Avante-Garde Aesthetic

Bathroom innovation doesn’t end with automatic sinks and smart showers. Add a touch of reinvention with a fringed chandelier that dangles above your bathtub.

Just be sure you follow U.S. building code rules and secure your wet-rated light 8 feet above the rim of your tub (or at least 3 feet to the side or front of it) — best for spaces with high ceilings.

10. Sleek Starburst

Perfect for a mid-century modern bathroom, a starburst-shaped chandelier exhibits the standard simplicity of lines, colors, and materials, decked out in dozens of exposed bulbs. Opt for a steel and crystal one that will double as an art piece.

11. Gilded Glamor

Go big and go gold by hanging a large, horizontal, or drum-shaped chandelier from the center of your space. To up the glam factor, try one with dangling chains and gold, geometric accent pieces enclosing bulbs at the ends. The light reflecting off the metal will bathe your room in a yellow shine.

Take it from me, no matter the size, shape, or style, hanging a chandelier in your bathroom will add instant elegance. Place a singular one above your tub, vanity, or toilet, or double or triple smaller, pendant-style ones for a unique effect.
